Formerly known as katethegreat19, Erutan is a female singer/songwriter who uses a wide range of traditional folk instruments alongside her stunning voice to create warming covers and original pieces. Many of her songs are from or based upon the Final Fantasy game series which, being a series I adore, makes her songs even more special to me. She also has a solely instrumental channel called The Menagerie.
5) Suteki Da Ne
My favourite thing about this cover is the different lyrics to any others I've heard. It's quite a different take on the song and the piano and whispers in the background lend the song a very dreamlike feel.
4) Aerith's Theme
Another Final Fantasy cover with original lyrics: I especially love the harp parts! The lyrics also tell the story of Aerith's life and add to the melancholic tone of the song.
3) Yuki no Hana
Yuki no Hana is a very pretty fan-arranged piece by Erutan. The instrumental backing makes it sound almost like a music box at some points, so it sounds like a soothing lullaby. The lyrics may not be in English but they're still very touching and you can read their translation in the video description.
2) You're Not Alone
A beautiful song from Final Fantasy 9 (one of my favourite games!) and one of Kate's older covers. Despite having fairly low-key backing music, she layers her voice in such a way that the song still seems well rounded and melodic.
1) Rose of May
Yet another FF9 song, sorry! ^^' The rhythm of this song really carries it along and Kate's voice is as mellow as usual. Besides that, it's a really heartfelt piece and I love all the fanart that scrolls alongside the music.
