If you love Fruit Ninja and cute bears, this app is perfect for you. Combining badass sword skills with adorable teddies and challenging gameplay, Spry Fox have produced yet another great game.
The concept is simple: you control a bear with giant swords in a battle to defend your forest home. Much like Fruit Ninja, the player draws lines on the screen for the blades to follow in order to despatch enemies. The catch is that you must manoeuvre your furry friend in such a way that his body won't be hit by the baddies. Doing so requires patience, speed and a certain amount of practice.
Some nice features of the game are the different bears and trails that can be unlocked. Clearing daily quests and watching ads will provide you with coins and tokens which allow you to collect these without too much trauma. (Or money) Each of the bears possesses a unique fighting style, with varying sword sizes, speeds and bonus skills. Additionally, you can upgrade the capabilities of each bear, increasing their sword size or dash speed, for example, making tricky enemies easier to tackle. The trails, in contrast, serve no practical purpose but they're certainly pretty.
The game might be a little frustrating at first, with monsters swarming the screen and taking out your teddy but perseverance pays off. With a little time, you'll be rewarded with new areas, stronger bears and a rather satisfying screen telling you what percentage of players you just beat with your high score. If all else fails, at least the characters are incontestably cute!
