Another one of our favourite singers on YouTube is Lizz Robinett. She sings a mixture of covers in English and Japanese, as well as some songs of her own. Almost all of her lyrics are original and very carefully written. Her gentle voice complements backing piano music really well! Here are five of her best English covers: 5) Lost in thoughts all aloneI'm sure you’ll have come across at least one cover of this song from the new Fire Emblem game by now. However, Lizz once again puts her own stamp on the piece, bringing out the best in it with a more delicate tone. She's also uploaded a Japanese cover of the same song. 4) RockbellThe kitten is so cute! And Lizz's voice captures all of the emotions and adorableness awesomely. 3) IkanaideEvery time I come across a new cover of this song, it makes me so happy! Lizz and Juby’s are easily the best but they're very different. This version is a beautiful acoustic cover coupled with evocative lyrics. 2) AnswerA sequel of sorts to the well known song ‘Just Be Friends’, Answer holds its own whilst evoking memories of the original piece. Lizz's english cover is thoughtful and optimistic, tinged with hints of sadness and hope. 1) IronyA nostalgic one for me; this is one of the first of Lizz’s songs I heard and fell in love with. Whilst the lyrics are a bit sad, the song has such a nice rhythm and tune that it's impossible not to sing along.
An amazing self-taught artist, tinyTonbo uses her tablet to draw vibrant characters. Her designs are both striking and full of cute details, inviting you to take a closer look. In the gallery below, we've featured some examples of her stunning artwork. This feature also includes an exclusive interview with the artist herself. Q & A:Why do you draw in your current style? Concerning my drawing style, I'm really fond of bright colors and splashes of detail, and I'm trying to improve lighting contrast and composition to make my drawings stand out more. I want my drawings to seem vivid and eye catching but also fun and cute. Who is your favourite artist? Hmm, favorite artist...This will be kind of difficult! ;u; Well, I fell in love with ocono's artwork a few months ago. Her drawing style is very simple, but that's why it's very unique. Other artists include ukkiuki, Kanekiru, empew, Aka-Shiro (i really love her traditional sketches and ink drawings), Hetiru, eaphonia, loundraw (their work is so realistic), Tomiokajiro, etc...(sorry there are so many, I haven't even listed my favorites from Pixiv lol) Which drawing are you the most proud of? Anyways, the artwork I am most proud of...Let's see, usually it's one of my Hetalia fanarts or an original character drawing. I guess it would have to be: If you'd like to request a commission by tinyTonbo, please read her journal, here. Prices start at $10 (USD). If you love Fruit Ninja and cute bears, this app is perfect for you. Combining badass sword skills with adorable teddies and challenging gameplay, Spry Fox have produced yet another great game. The concept is simple: you control a bear with giant swords in a battle to defend your forest home. Much like Fruit Ninja, the player draws lines on the screen for the blades to follow in order to despatch enemies. The catch is that you must manoeuvre your furry friend in such a way that his body won't be hit by the baddies. Doing so requires patience, speed and a certain amount of practice. Some nice features of the game are the different bears and trails that can be unlocked. Clearing daily quests and watching ads will provide you with coins and tokens which allow you to collect these without too much trauma. (Or money) Each of the bears possesses a unique fighting style, with varying sword sizes, speeds and bonus skills. Additionally, you can upgrade the capabilities of each bear, increasing their sword size or dash speed, for example, making tricky enemies easier to tackle. The trails, in contrast, serve no practical purpose but they're certainly pretty. The game might be a little frustrating at first, with monsters swarming the screen and taking out your teddy but perseverance pays off. With a little time, you'll be rewarded with new areas, stronger bears and a rather satisfying screen telling you what percentage of players you just beat with your high score. If all else fails, at least the characters are incontestably cute! Bushido Bear is currently available to download for free on iTunes and Google Play for free.
You might have already seen this app on the front page of the App Store. It's a beautiful new music/rhythm game by Rayark, the same people who created Deemo. The game is set in a picturesque seaside town, which is introduced to us in the cinematic opening. The art and animation are flawless, matched by atmospheric guitar riffs and the soothing sound of the ocean. The anime-style introduction plays each time you open the app, but can be skipped immediately by tapping the screen. Whilst the controls for the game are intuitive and easy to learn, I must admit that I was confused for a while about the third type of note - white squares that you tap and hold. The tutorial didn't make it very clear how they differed from the other note types. However, it was easy enough to figure out within the first few songs. One particular feature I love about the game's design is how well the 'rails' which the notes slide down are incorporated into each song. Rather than being a bland, immobile line, each rail changes colour, moves around and dances along in accordance with the music. It serves to make each piece far more unique and surprising. Unlike Deemo, in which the story advanced solely based on the number of points you accumulated, VOEZ gives you specific tasks to complete. For example, playing a certain number of songs or reaching a target score. With each completed task, pictures and messages are unlocked in the 'Diary'. This provides a great motivation for challenging yourself in order to advance the plot. On the downside, some of these tasks require lots of practice and patience. Plus, as understandable as it is, forcing the user to purchase extra songs using the rarely obtained 'key's, in order to complete a quest, is frustrating. Overall, VOEZ is certainly worth downloading. Even if you don't want to compete on the leaderboards or finish every quest, the game is fun and lovingly made. Relaxing or intense, it's up to you how to play.
