Having read only the blurb on Crunchyroll, I had no idea what to expect from this series. I couldn't tell if it was going to be in the fantasy, magical-girl genre or a cheerful slice-of-life anime. By about ten minutes through, I was convinced: yep, it's slice-of-life. Or not, as I was about to find!
I must admit that I've never been the biggest fan of the magical-girl genre so I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy this anime. (Especially when I now see Madoka Magica everywhere... :3) I can't dismiss the foreboding sense that something dark is going on too...
But so far, this show looks pretty good. The characters don't seem too bland and the setting is pretty intriguing. I'm especially curious about what Mimori Togo is going to choose to do in the next episodes. More than anything, I suppose I hope that the series keeps up it's own unique feel, rather than falling into the bland and cheesy style that so many in this genre seem to.
