I finally have my own PSP - yay! :D (I know I'm years late, but the games are still great!) I've just started playing Patapon; it's a cute little rhythm game in which you help the tiny members of an ancient tribe on their quest the reach 'Earthend'. By tapping different patterns in time with the music, you command the Patapons to march and attack in order to defeat various foes.
The silhouette art style is simple and effective, much like many other aspects of the game. Similarly, the music adds to the tribal theme.
In all honesty, I found it very tricky to get into the beat to begin with but having mastered that, the game quickly becomes addictive! It's surprisingly easy to lose yourself in the sound of the drums. Don't be discouraged if it takes a while to get the hang of it. The game will take it fairlt easy in you until then. Practicing in the hunting grounds will help a lot, as well as providing useful materials for expanding your army.
I won't spoil any more, since watching a game unfold is half of the fun, but there's more depth and strategy to Patapon than you might think!
